Use it or Lose It: Don't Miss Out on Maximizing Your Dental Benefits

We're in the depths of the 2023 holiday season, with Christmas rapidly approaching!

It's that time of year when we like to remind our patients to reevaluate their dental benefits and determine if there are any treatments they need to complete before their benefits run out on December 31st. Unfortunately, dental insurance benefits don't roll over, so if you don't use them in 2023, you'll lose them.

Do You Need a Preventive Teeth Cleaning and Checkup?

Did you know that most dental insurance plans cover preventive teeth cleanings and checkups, leaving you with minimal out-of-pocket expense, if any? These appointments are essential for protecting your smile against common problems like tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease, which can result in tooth loss in its advanced stages (periodontitis).

Preventive teeth cleanings and checkups can protect both your dental health from common problems and your wallet from costly procedures. Most dental insurance plans cover two preventive appointments every six months, so consider scheduling yours before the end of the year if you haven't had two in 2023.

Save Money on the Dental Treatment You Need

Do you need a dental filling or tooth crown? Most dental insurance plans will cover a percentage of the treatment to help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. If your Medina dentist has recommended treatment for you, it may be possible for you to save money on that treatment by using your dental benefits before the end of the year.

Contact your team at Sinick Family Dental to see if you have any outstanding treatment needs for 2023.
