Do you have a toothache? Swelling? Pain?

Toothaches are miserable. At Sinick Family Dental, we have been there. A severe toothache and swelling as a child are one of the reasons Dr. Christopher Sinick chose to become a dentist!

Fear of going to the dentist often keeps people from receiving preventive dental care. You won’t feel judged here at Sinick Family Dental. We pride ourselves in serving Medina and the surrounding communities painlessly and efficiently.

We know you don’t want to spend any more time at the dentist's office than you have to. It’s important to understand that dental pain won't just go away on its own. Either your Medina dentist identifies and fixes the oral health issue, or it becomes worse over time.

Don't Delay a Tooth Extraction

When it becomes necessary to remove a tooth, it's important not to wait so you can protect your dental and overall health. Here are some of the benefits tooth extraction provides.

Stops Infection

Removing an infected tooth prevents the infection from spreading to neighboring teeth or other critical areas of the body.

Eliminates Pain

Removing the infected tooth relieves the pain and discomfort caused by the tooth infection.

Stops Complications

A tooth infection can become even more problematic for your health if it spreads to other teeth.

I cracked my tooth and the got me in immediately for an extraction. Everyone was very friendly and professional. The dentist explained everything to me and he was gentle and quick. Definitely would recommend Sinick Dental.

If you have a toothache, you could not come to a safer or friendlier place. Our staff is here to make this painful, unfortunate experience as easy as it can be.

When Dental Extractions Are Necessary

Even the most rock-star patients who practice perfect oral hygiene and dental check-ups can go through unexpected dental speedbumps for many reasons. Some common circumstances that result in the need for an emergency dental extraction for our Medina patients include:

Tooth pain and discomfort—Any time you experience dental pain, give us a call immediately. Tooth pain is usually a sign of tooth decay, infection, an abscess, or another oral health issue. Unlike headaches or cramps that come and go, tooth pain that is ignored will only get worse. If you don’t identify the source of the toothache, it may develop into a serious dental problem that can be costly and may lead to an emergency dental extraction.

Broken or cracked tooth—At Sinick Family Dental, we can treat most chipped or cracked teeth with a dental crown. Dental crowns cap the entire tooth and encase it in a protective sheath. If the damage is too extensive, we may need to perform a tooth extraction to prevent dental issues.

Gum disease—The problem with gum disease is that many symptoms are mild or unnoticed, which means you can develop the disease and not know until it becomes a severe infection. When the tooth root is infected, it can affect your gum tissue and bone structure, which means a tooth extraction is critical in preventing the spread of periodontal disease.

Wisdom teeth—When wisdom teeth grow in, they can get impacted due to their angle or overcrowding. This can endanger adjacent teeth and create teeth shifting, which is why removing wisdom teeth before they create a significant problem is important.

Fractured tooth under the gum line—Chewing food can create a lot of stress on your teeth, especially when you chew ice or hard candy. If your teeth are misaligned, the force from biting down can crack your molars over time. A root canal or a recent filling may increase the risk of a cracked tooth. If the tooth fractures below the gum line, it will need an immediate dental extraction.

There are other reasons for an emergency dental extraction that makes Medina patients come to see us, including injury, illness, and other oral health situations. We always make ourselves available to each and every patient; we want everyone to feel comfortable when they come to visit us. We provide convenient same-day tooth extractions so patients can be relieved of any pain and discomfort. Don't suffer silently through your pain! This is a health situation where "toughing it out" is the worst possible scenario.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dr. Sinick knows from personal experience how badly a toothache can hurt. In fact, it was one of the experiences that led him to become a dentist. When you have tooth pain, it can consume your entire life. We know, and we want to help you.

We Want To Help In All Dental Emergencies

Toothaches are not the only dental emergency. If you have broken a tooth, we are here to help you, too. We will do our best to get you fixed up as quickly as we can. If you need a crown to repair a broken tooth, we are able to make your permanent crown the same day in most cases. This means no temporaries! See our page on Same Day Crowns to learn more.

Contact Our Medina, OH Dentist Office In An Emergency

If you are having an emergency, please try to call us as early as you can so that we can find a spot in our schedule for you. Call us at (330) 587-9292 and we will get you in as soon as possible!

We Are Here to Make Your Visit Comfortable

While you are visiting our Medina dental office, you will be able to watch your favorite TV show or movie throughout your entire visit. Our TVs move so they will always be visible to you. Do you have a TV show you want to catch up on? A favorite movie you want to revisit? Let our friendly dental staff know how we can help you. We love nothing more than to make our patients feel happy and cared for.

Do you have questions about your insurance? We are in-network with:

  • Cigna
  • Aetna

We will submit to all insurances, however. In most instances, there is little to no difference to you if we are considered “in-network” or not. There are a few insurance plans where the insurance company will not pay anything if you go to an out-of-network dentist. These plans are state-funded plans such as Care Source. If you have one of these plans, we are more than happy to see you, but you will be responsible for the entirety of your bill.

We do our absolute best to give you an estimate of what your out-of-pocket investment will be before we do any treatment. Many hours are spent billing patients and working with insurance providers. As a small business, it is a labor of love for our patients and places a burden on our staff to do this. To continue to offer our patients the highest level of care, we request that payment is due at the time of service.

We will always work with our patients as much as we can, and we try to find ways to allow each patient to get the dental care they need.
