Why Do I Need a Tooth Extracted?

The two biggest reasons that people have teeth extracted are decay (cavities) or an infection (abscess). If you have an infection, your toothache could be extremely painful.

Dr. Sinick had an infection in a tooth when he was young. He can relate to how painful it can be. It is one of the experiences that led him to choose to become a dentist. Dr. Sinick had a root canal to get rid of the infection that he had. In most instances, we try to save the tooth, but sometimes the best solution is to extract it.

There are a couple different options to replace a missing tooth. They each have their plusses and minuses. The ways to replace a missing tooth include:

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Getting their wisdom teeth out is something that most people will remember for the rest of their lives. We want it to be a good memory for you. Our doctors are able to extract most wisdom teeth here in the office. This means that you won’t have to go to another office and pay for another exam fee from another doctor.  

Our doctors have spent a lot of extra time learning how to perform extractions in the least painful and most gentle way possible. He prides himself on patients having the best possible experience during an extraction. Some extractions can be more complex than others, but no matter how complex the extraction, he will do his best to make you feel at ease.

Everyone has seen the videos of family members playing tricks on each other after they had their wisdom teeth removed and are still “loopy.” We think they are hilarious, too.

At Sinick Family Dental, we only offer local anesthesia so your siblings won’t get the chance to make you think there was a zombie apocalypse!

If you are nervous, we can offer you an oral sedative. This will help you calm down and relax during the experience. If we prescribe an oral sedative, you will need someone to drive you to and from the appointment. If you are nervous, please let us know so that we can help make you comfortable.
