Having a beautiful smile is a must in today’s world. One of the biggest factors in a beautiful smile is straight teeth.
At Sinick Family Dental in Medina, we know that there is more to you than just your smile. We recognize that a beautiful smile is a key component to positive self-esteem and confidence.
When you smile, it is very difficult to not be happy. When you are embarrassed about the way your teeth look, however, you don’t want to smile. It makes it hard to make friends, get a new job, or find that special someone.
We are here to help make all of that a little easier.
When your teeth are straight, it is easier to keep them clean. Being able to brush and floss your teeth properly means fewer cavities. Fewer cavities means you can keep your teeth for longer, hopefully for life.
Cavities aren’t the only reason you can lose your teeth. Your gum health is very important to the health of your smile. When you have gum disease, it is like having a house on a cracked and broken foundation. It is only a matter of time before the whole house comes crumbling down. When your teeth are aligned properly, it makes it significantly easier to keep them clean. This means healthier gums (a stronger foundation).
Using Invisalign, Dr. Sinick is able to move your teeth into proper alignment. This means straighter, cleaner, and healthier teeth and gums. Invisalign is a series of clear trays that are custom made for you. Each tray gradually moves your teeth until they are straight and healthy.
In addition to the trays, we will place attachments on your teeth. These attachments are made with tooth-colored filling material and are virtually invisible when you wear your trays.
Invisalign is different than traditional braces. Traditional braces cannot be removed, so they are always on and working. With Invisalign, you are able to remove your trays. This makes it easier to keep everything clean.
Being able to remove your trays means that YOU are in control of how well your Invisalign treatment goes. It is recommended to wear your trays for 22 hours a day. If you don’t wear your trays, your teeth won’t move.
The length of treatment varies from person to person. Typically, cases are between nine months and a year.
